The biggest way they get business is through referrals, either through doctors or through word of mouth.

In the counselling and psychotherpay industry, when clients seek psychotherapy, they are met with long wait times and often see therapists who don’t necessarily match our needs.
dessonpiloncounselling.com want to provide competent services with short wait times by hiring staff from a variety of specialties.
Research
When I first met with Chelsea, the director of RP Clinical, she said " I wish to redesign the platform to make it look like a combination of a spa and a doctor’s office.".
With this objective in mind, I began by analyzing the current product.
Aesthetics alone don’t ensure usability.
Next, I started by categorizing user groups through personas, analyzing their behaviors, and gaining insights into their needs.

Key insight
Since referrals are a key way users find therapists, the website design should prioritize: Clear Therapist Profiles:
Highlight each therapist's specialties and experience to help users feel confident in their choice.
Referral-Friendly Features:
Include easy navigation for those directed by referrals, such as a "Meet Our Team" section or direct links to therapist profiles.
Trust Signals:
Add testimonials, certifications, or "Why Choose Us" content to reassure users coming through referrals.
What does a desirable information architecture look like?
Card Sorting
To further understand the desired information architecture, I conducted a closed card sorting excersise with each of the 3 participants.

By redesigning this website, I learned how to apply the entire design process to different products while balancing user and business needs.
In this project, I used the card sorting method to do design research. This approach significantly improved website‘s information organization, content prioritization, navigation design, and reducing cognitive load.
I also learned how to add features based on the characteristics of how users interact with the product, helping users achieve their goals more easily while increasing conversion rates for the business.
I tried to add more contact buttons and availability status label so that users can match to therapists with current availability easier.
